I bought this camera to replace my Pentax Optio S camera which was a small compact camera. I wanted a new camera with a bigger and clearer screen, higher megapixels and better zoom functions but it also had to be easy to use i.e. point and click.
I think this camera does all that, it's still pretty compact and aesthetically pleasing - you can get it in different colours but I preferred the classic black style.
It's lightweight and easy to follow and the picture quality is perfect. I can't really fault this. If you want exceptional picture quality you'd buy an SLR, this camera gives good clear photos for the average user and it's good value for money. |

I bought this camera to replace the fantastic Canon Powershot S45 and have since bought 2 more Lumix with 1 being the FS25.
I wanted a 12MP point and shoot camera but more importantly was the quality of the photo and with the superb Leica lens on this I haven't been disappointed. The photos have great colour rendition and balance. It's very light weight and fits comfortably in a pocket. I used it skiing and was pleased I didn't have to keep the battery out of the camera to keep it warm and within operating temperature.
The wide angle lens does make a difference and this combined with the 5x zoom gives you every flexibility.

| Well I received this camera to take on my cruise holiday. I had a wee play with it before packing it securely in my case, and found it to be very easy to use and the picture quality looked really good. Unfortunately, someone has stolen my brand new camera and 4gb card from my suitcase. so can't review any more about it...... |

I did see in a review a note 'slow shutter' but my budget did not allow me to go for a better lumix. If you can invest more i would recommend to do so as this one is great for those who are not catching things on the run - shutter is simply to slow for that...at least as my holiday experience showed.
Otherwise camera is lightweight, stylish, has wide angle option which is very useful, is compact and makes great quality pictures and on top of it all - it makes motion pictures (movies) which i would rate above average.
All to all - a very good gadget!
